Sunday 12 February, Wellington -- Free Event
The ‘flagship’ of Wellington’s Chinese New Year Festival is Festival Day, with a free event that reflects all the traditional aspects of a Chinese New Year celebration. Festival Day is of course themed Asian, showcasing something amazing for everyone: delicious cooked foods, crafts, information and display stands, groceries, a street parade, cultural entertainment, balloons, dress-ups, photo booths, puppet fire-breathers, soccer-fiends, a dazzling night-sky fireworks display. And if you want more, East Meets West is our Saturday and Sunday early evening ticketed show for all the family to enjoy, melding Eastern and Western performers and showcasing performers from China especially brought over for this Festival.
Come join us and enjoy something Asian at the Chinese New Year Festival - Year of the Rooster!
